From a young age, I was dedicated to education. Of course, for kindergarten me, this meant teaching my peers everything about unicorns. Nowadays, this will be my seventh year teaching and I am incredibly excited to join the Parkview team. I first briefly worked for Parkview during Covid as a part-time Zoom-based first grade science teacher. Ever since then, I knew I wanted to return to Parkview; I just had to wait for an opening.

I am a hands-on learner who is endlessly fascinated by not only individual subjects, but how they blend together. A STEM-based school like Parkview is just the place for my creative soul. I am known as a flexible teacher who can roll with the punches and often has creative solutions for student struggles. I love to show students how the current subject will be used in real life, while encouraging them to grow more confident and independent.

I have lived in Chico for a decade now and love my home. You’ll find my spouse Eric and I in the Park daily walking our lab Bingo. Eric often has to wait patiently, a smile on his lips, as I document birds and plants. As you may have guessed from touring my classroom, I love nature and wanted to bring a little slice of Bidwell Park indoors. My passion for plants extends to gardening, specifically California natives and edible landscaping. I also love fiber arts (knitting, embroidery, sewing, and weaving), reading endless books, and snuggling with my cat Junie.

Since I was young, Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus has been one of my role models.
