From a young age, I was dedicated to education. Of course, for kindergarten me, this meant teaching my peers everything about unicorns. Nowadays, this will be my eighth year teaching and I am looking forward to bringing my passion for our fascinating world into the classroom.

I am a hands-on learner who is endlessly fascinated by not only individual subjects, but how they blend together. A STEM-based school like Parkview is just the place for my creative soul. I am known as a flexible teacher who can roll with the punches and often has creative solutions for student struggles. I love to show students how the current subject will be used in real life, while encouraging them to grow more confident and independent.

I have lived in Chico for a decade now and love my home. You’ll often find us on the weekends hiking the trails in and around Chico with our lab Bingo. Eric often has to wait patiently, a smile on his lips, as I document birds and plants. As you may have guessed from touring my classroom, I love nature and wanted to bring a little slice of Bidwell Park indoors. My passion for plants extends to gardening, specifically California natives and edible landscaping. I also love fiber arts (knitting, embroidery, sewing, and weaving), reading endless books, and snuggling with my cats Junie and Calamity.

School is not the only place to learn! I adore seeking new skills and knowledge and have a habit of collecting new hobbies. Here I was at a week-long hands-on training called the Forestry Institute for Teachers, where we explored the Humboldt woods.
